The Apayao Anti-Abuse Council Converging Towards Humanitarian Action and Oneness (AHON) held a coordination and consultation meeting on March 12, 2026 at the Legislative Building in Luna to review updates on gender-based violence and abuse cases in the province.
Among the concerns raised during the meeting was the continuing rise in reported cases and the related mental health concerns affecting victims, particularly women.
Apayao Lone District Representative Eleanor C. Bulut-Begtang, together with representatives from national line agencies, took part in the discussion to strengthen coordination in addressing the legal, psychosocial, and socio-economic needs of survivors and their families.
Preparations were also discussed for the launch of the Apayao Provincial Crisis Helpline, scheduled on March 25, 2026 at Flora National High School. The helpline is expected to provide an immediate and accessible channel for individuals experiencing abuse or crisis to seek help and support.
Through the meeting, the AHON Council continued efforts to strengthen coordination among agencies, expand mental health support, and protect the dignity and welfare of survivors across the province.
