Safety officers of the Provincial Government of Apayao (PGA) underwent a two-day training on Basic Vital Signs Taking and First Aid conducted by the Provincial Health Office (PHO) on March 11–12 at the Clubhouse, Apayao Eco-Tourism and Sports Complex (AETSC) in Luna.
The training focused on important health response skills, including the proper measurement of body temperature, pulse rate, respiratory rate, blood pressure, and oxygen saturation, which are key indicators used to assess a person’s condition during medical situations.

PHO facilitators also discussed the rational use of medicines and antimicrobial resistance, along with demonstrations on correct blood pressure measurement using both manual and digital devices and basic first aid procedures.
Participants took part in hands-on exercises and return demonstrations, where they practiced taking vital signs and recording the results. A skills assessment was also conducted to evaluate their understanding of the procedures.

Safety officers from various provincial offices attended the training as part of efforts to strengthen health preparedness and workplace safety within the Provincial Government.
