A Tuberculosis (TB) Health Caravan reached 100 residents during a screening activity held April 16 at the Rural Health Unit (RHU), as part of efforts to strengthen early detection in the province.
The activity was carried out by the Provincial Government of Apayao through the Provincial Health Office TB Program, in partnership with the Department of Health–CHD Cordillera and the Philippine Business for Social Progress.

Chest X-ray screening identified 21 individuals with presumptive pulmonary tuberculosis, while 20 sputum samples were collected for confirmatory testing.

The caravan is part of ongoing field activities that bring TB screening closer to communities, especially in areas with limited access to diagnostic services.
The PHO continues to conduct similar outreach efforts and encourages residents to seek early consultation when symptoms are present.
