Brigada Eskwela begins as schools prepare for opening of classes

Public schools in Apayao joined the nationwide kickoff of Brigada Eskwela 2026 on June 1, launching a week-long effort to prepare campuses for the opening of classes on June 8.

This year’s Brigada Eskwela carries the theme, “Bayanihan sa Paaralan: Nagkakaisa para sa Kaayusan at Kaalaman,” with teachers, students, parents, alumni, government agencies, civic organizations, and volunteers taking part in preparing classrooms and school facilities for the incoming school year.

School personnel and volunteers are conducting clean-up drives, minor repairs, and maintenance work in classrooms and other learning facilities during the five-day activity.

Classes for School Year 2026–2027 will open on June 8 under the Department of Education’s three-term academic calendar, which will be implemented in public schools nationwide.

Brigada Eskwela will run until June 5 as schools complete preparations for the return of learners to their respective campuses.
