Gov. Bulut leads building turnover, rolls out rice aid in Pudtol

Governor Elias C. Bulut Jr. led the turnover and inauguration of a multi-purpose building in Barangay Mataguisi, Pudtol on April 28, alongside the distribution of rice assistance to identified families.

The food assistance is part of the Assistance to Indigent Individuals or Families – Food Assistance under the Rice Distribution Project, a program funded through the 2026 Local Government Support Fund. Each beneficiary family receives 10 kilos of well-milled rice, with recipients identified and validated by municipal governments.

The distribution responds to rising food costs and other pressures affecting household budgets, including fuel price adjustments and dry conditions linked to El Niño. The program is set to continue in scheduled rounds in the province.

Rice for the project is sourced from accredited farmers’ cooperatives and associations, linking the distribution effort with local agricultural producers.

Also present during the activity were DILG Apayao Provincial Director Marleen M. Guerzon, Pudtol municipal officials, provincial department heads, and representatives from municipal offices involved in the implementation.

Deliveries to other barangays in different municipalities are scheduled to follow as the province-wide rollout continues.
