A graduate from Flora placed ninth in the April 2026 Pharmacist Licensure Examination, adding to the province’s recent board exam results.
Ms. Jelsey Miarah M. Velo, a resident of Poblacion East and an alumna of Mariano Marcos State University (MMSU), secured a spot in the Top 10, based on results released by the Professional Regulation Commission (PRC).
Velo said she did not expect to place, citing the difficulty of the exam.
“I honestly did not expect myself to become one of the topnotchers, especially since sobrang low yield ng mga questions na lumabas. Okay na ako basta pumasa. Pero sabi nila if mag-pray ka be specific kasi may sense of humor si Lord. So I always prayed, ‘Lord sana kahit line of 9 lang. I’ll do my best and may You do the rest.’ Pero look at what the Lord gave me grabe, He is so good,” she said.
She credited her family for their support during the review period.
“It would be my family. To my mama na super generous, lahat ng needs ko ginagawa niya ang best niya to give financially, emotionally, verbally. To my papa na hatid-sundo ako from Junction Luna Florida Terminal, lalo na pag may sudden announcements at kailangan kong mag-round trip papuntang Batac at pabalik ng Flora. To my ading, na happy pill ko. To my extended family, ramdam ko din ang support niyo, thank you,” she shared.
She also shared a message for future examinees: “Believe in yourself, do your best, and pray… The Lord will surprise you in ways you never expected.”
Governor Elias C. Bulut, Jr., Vice Governor Kyle Mariah Chelsea Bulut-Cunan, and the Provincial Government of Apayao extend their congratulations to Velo for her achievement, citing it as a source of pride for the province and its learners.
