Barangay Health Workers (BHWs) from the Municipality of Flora completed the PuroKalusugan (PK) Manual Training conducted by the Rural Health Unit (RHU) of Flora in partnership with the Provincial Health Office (PHO) to help prepare them for health education and primary healthcare activities in their barangays.
The training introduced participants to the PuroKalusugan Job Guide, a Department of Health (DOH) reference containing simplified health information, visual aids, and step-by-step guidance that BHWs can use during household visits and community health education sessions.

Discussions covered nutrition, water, sanitation and hygiene (WASH), maternal and child health, immunization, tuberculosis, family planning, sexually transmitted infections, non-communicable diseases, cancer prevention, smoking and vaping, and road safety.

Participants also conducted return demonstrations using the DOH flip charts, allowing them to practice delivering health information and applying the lessons discussed during the training.

The activity was attended by BHWs from different barangays in Flora as part of the municipality’s continuing health education program.
