Health workers from Rural Health Units (RHUs) and district hospitals in the province attended a PhilHealth Data Retooling in Luna to address delays and errors in claims processing.
The session focused on proper documentation and data handling, which directly affect how fast facilities receive reimbursements from PhilHealth. These funds are used to cover operations and sustain services at the local level.

Department of Health–Cordillera Assistant Regional Director Dr. Janice Bugtong attended the activity and pointed to the role of accurate records in keeping health services funded. She said data encoders and health staff are central to ensuring that services delivered are properly recorded and reimbursed.
Participants were also briefed that seven primary care facilities in Apayao are now accredited under the YAKAP program. District hospitals are next in line for GAMOT provider certification, which will expand access to covered services.

The training comes as local health offices work to tighten documentation and improve turnaround time for claims, a recurring issue raised by facilities in the region.
