The Provincial Government of Apayao, represented by Governor Elias C. Bulut Jr., joined the Department of Migrant Workers-Cordillera Administrative Region (DMW-CAR), led by OIC-Regional Director Atty. Cheryl L. Daytec, together with the Overseas Workers Welfare Administration (OWWA), Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE), Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA), and participating local government units in signing a Memorandum of Agreement today, October 1, at the LMP Hall, Apayao Eco-Tourism and Sports Complex.
The agreement covers overseas employment, return and reintegration, assistance for migrant workers and their families, and coordination against illegal recruitment and trafficking in persons.
It also sets a common framework among the participating agencies and local governments in handling migrant worker concerns before, during and after overseas employment.
