The Provincial Health Office (PHO) conducted a Social Behavior Change Communication activity on February 3, 2026, at the Aliwa Gymnasium as part of the province’s observance of Oral Health Month.
The activity focused on strengthening public awareness of oral health and its link to overall well-being. Information, Education, and Communication (IEC) sessions covered topics such as the importance of oral health, tobacco cessation, heart health and lifestyle medicine, mental health and psychosocial well-being, and basic cybersecurity awareness, including how to identify false information online.

Participants included selected employees from the National Irrigation Administration (NIA), Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH), Community Environment and Natural Resources Office (CENRO), Provincial Environment and Natural Resources Office (PENRO), the Provincial Government of Apayao (PGA), and persons with disabilities (PWDs).

PHO officials said the activity is part of the office’s continuing preventive health campaign, underscoring that proper oral hygiene contributes not only to physical health but also to mental well-being, while encouraging informed and health-conscious practices among the public.
