Cluster 1 took the top prize in the 126th Philippine Civil Service Anniversary (PCSA) Choral Competition on September 30 at the BGVJR Memorial Sports Center in Poblacion, Luna, capping the celebration with a tightly contested showcase among government employees.
The winning group, composed of personnel from the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH), Regional Trial Court (RTC), Public Attorney’s Office (PAO), Municipal Circuit Trial Court (MCTC), Parole and Probation Office (PPO), Civil Service Commission (CSC), Land Registration Authority (LRA) and Provincial Prosecutor’s Office, received ₱40,000.
Defending champion Cluster 6, composed of the Provincial Government of Apayao (PGA) and the Office of the Congresswoman, settled for first runner-up and received ₱35,000.
Cluster 2 finished second runner-up and took home ₱30,000. The cluster was composed of the Conner District Hospital (CDH), Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP), National Commission on Indigenous Peoples (NCIP), Department of Agriculture (DA), Department of Agrarian Reform (DAR), Far North Luzon General Hospital and Training Center (FNLGHTC), National Food Authority (NFA), Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office (PCSO), Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA), and Provincial DOH Office.
Cluster 1 added another award after winning Best in Costume, while Cluster 3 earned Best Conductor. Each special award carried a ₱10,000 prize.
Clusters 3, 4 and 5 each received ₱10,000 as consolation prizes.
The choral competition is one of the closing events of the 126th PCSA celebration under the theme, “Bawat Kawani: Lingkod Bayani: Puso. Dangal. At Galing Para sa Bayan.”
